Food and Drink was certainly on the menu at a recent Marketing Masterclass in North Wales, organised by the Food and Drink Wales Industry Board. It was time away from the day job to focus on marketing my new cheese and packaging. The best line up of speakers talked Food and Drink; Jimmy from Jimmy's Iced Coffee talked about Passion to Profit (honest and very funny) to David Levin from That Lot Social Media; talked us through the highs and lows of Social Media and the social feeds for Channel 4, Jamie Oliver, Nando's and Have I got News For You. Food was fabulous throughout the day with lunch provided by Dylan's Restaurant (the best North Wales restaurants by the seas quoted by the Sunday Times this week). Producers had the chance to book a one-to-one session with leading industry experts. Above left is Llana Taub co-founder of SNACT who makes fruit jerky and banana bars whilst tackling food waste - just brilliant. The elephant in the room (no, not me - the big countdown timer) meant that producers had 15 minutes to showcase their brand, which created an urgency/panic to get straight to the point. Good to have great feedback when your a 'one woman band'. If you are looking to develop/grow your Welsh food/drink brand, then you can't go far wrong with the support of Food and Drink Wales - you just have to Tuck In!
