Best day ever judging at the International Cheese Awards in Nantwich today. Incredible to think that over 5,000 cheeses had been entered from all over the world. I only had to judge 24 in the class 'best cheese made by a novice cheesemaker with less than 5 years experience'. This was a great category as there was everything from soft cheese to hard/blue and from goats cheese to buffalo cheese. A fabulous lunch awaited us (my cheese friend Jo from the Little Welsh Cheese Company) as we sat and chatted with cheesemakers from as far afield as Australia.
