Ok, now I'd thought I'd add a blog (my first) to my shiny new webiste and give you a quick update of what I've been up to. Here we go...moved to North Wales five years ago to work for Bangor Univerity. Attended a cheese making course last year (2014) at the Food Technology Centre on Anglesey. I love cheese and was intrigued as to the process... loved it so much in fact that I decided to start my own company.
I tried making different cheeses with different methods and then produced a Lancashire cheese to start with. I moved from Lancashire (often get mistaken for a Yorkshire lass in this part of the world) and miss the local cheese. This picture is me at last years Conwy Feast in 2014.
After thinking long and hard about what cheeses I wanted to produce, I thought it would be great to specialise in a very special cheese. Ta Dah!...the Welsh Camembert was born.
A few weeks ago I entered the International Cheese Awards with my St Tudno and guess what, I won! Silver for best Welsh Cheese. So pleased that I wasn't the only one that loved it.
